Once rested and settled down, you can take a lazy stroll around your hotel and take in as much of Kathmandu as you can without getting any cultural shock. We make sure that your first acquaintance with the capital city is a memorable one! Join us for some Nepali delicacy in the evening and leave your taste buds tingling followed by a pre-departure meeting. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Today is a big day for you as you finally get to kick-start your adventure! We have a lot of sightseeing in store for you starting with Kathmandu, the nerve-center of Nepal. It flaunts its rich history and vibrant culture in every possible nook and cranny. Kathmandu Durbar Square is rich with ancient palaces with spectacular art and architecture whereas Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest places for Hindus. You then make your way to the largest stupa in the world: Boudhanath Stupa followed by Swayambhunath Temple. Swayambhunath meaning the "the self-existent" is popular among foreigners owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. No wonder why it’s also called “Monkey Temple”. Make sure you keep an eye out for these notorious creatures. Transfer to Nagarkot in the evening with an hour and half drive offering views of the Nepalese countryside. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Wake up to the spectacular sunrise over the hills and enjoy lush green valleys, authentic villages and a breathtaking Himalayan panorama in Nagarkot. From any clear point on the ridge, you can take in spectacular views of the Himalayas, from Dhaulagiri in the west to Mt. Everest and Kanchenjunga in the east. You then head towards Patan and Bhaktapur which is filled with monuments, carved wooden columns, palaces and temples with elaborate carvings, gilded roofs and open courtyards. The city is dotted with pagodas and religious shrines showcasing rich history and vibrant culture in every nook and cranny, making it a living heritage. You will be awestruck, feeling the medieval spirit as you stroll in both of these ancient cities. Overnight in Kathmandu.
The drive to Pokhara takes about 5-6 hours from Kathmandu. You will enjoy the winding road with some of the most gorgeous landscapes and inspiring images reflecting in your rear-view mirror. Peaceful Pokhara has a prime position beside a deep, green lake, nestling among forested hills with a picture-postcard backdrop of gleaming Himalayan peaks. The town offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Pokhara is also the gateway for trekking in the Annapurna Region. Once you arrive, feel free to explore the surrounding lakeside areas in the evening. Overnight in Pokhara.
Drive to Sarangkot Hill in the early morning and catch the incredible sunrise view over the Himalayas. You spend the day exploring this beautiful city. Take a boat ride in the pristine Phewa Lake, the second biggest lake of Nepal. Enjoy the dawn views of Machhapuchhare and Annapurna, which mirrored in the calm waters of Phewa Tal or seen from the town’s hilltop viewpoints, are simply surreal. Apart from its lakes and Annapurna range skyline, spend the day exploring World Peace Pagoda, Davis Fall, Mahendra Cave, Pokhara Museum, Seti Gandaki gorge and more. Overnight in Pokhara.
You start early and drive to Lumbini - which will take about 6-7 hours driving 199 km. As you leave the city and enter the Terai plains, you can notice the sudden surge in the temperature as it gets hot and humid (except in winter). You then reach the legendary place where one of history’s greatest and most revered figure. Siddhartha Gautam was born. If you make it to Lumbini by evening or around sunset, you can take a leisurely walk around the local market and observe the local lifestyle around here. Overnight in Lumbini.
Lumbini means love in Sanskrit and the place definitely lives up to its name. But more than that, the place provides one with a spiritually uplifting journey as it brings you closer to the origin of Lord Buddha. Ashoka Pillar (which bears the oldest inscription of Nepal), Queen Maya Devi Temple, ancient monasteries, the sacred Bodhi Tree, and the ancient bathing pond are the noteworthy attractions around here. Visit the museum, peace pagoda and stroll around the meditation site. Next up is the historical site of Kapilvastu, Tilaurakot where Siddhartha Gautam spent the first 29 years of his life. There’s a small museum at the final turn-off to Tilaurakot that displays some of the artifacts found at the site. Overnight in Kathmandu.
You head back to Kathmandu - about a 300 kilometers journey into the winding mountain road. The drive is about 6-7 hours. Once in Kathmandu, take a rest, trade emails or go for last minute shopping in the evening. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on some of its fantastic souvenirs. Overnight in Kathmandu. (if you opt to fly it can be arranged at an additional cost)
Today is the day you bid goodbye to the land of the Himalayas. Perhaps you might be back for more mountain adventures. Who knows? Our representative will escort to the airport three hours before your departure.
