The itinerary of Nar Phu trek commences trekking into the Marsyangdi Valley and then follows the trail of the Annapurna Circuit and then into the valley of Nar Phu. You’d be walking along rugged mountain trails and carved out deep gorges. The experience is just so adventurous and you’d feel energized with the fresh mountain air. As you make your way out of the arrival gates, look out for a cheerful face of our Wind Horse representative holding a placard, with your name on it. He will drop you to the hotel. Altitude: 1100m/3608ft| Drive 8-9 hrs
Today we will meet you at your hotel early in the morning and pick you up so to start our journey. It takes 8-9 hrs of driving on a private vehicle to Jagat, a stone village in Lamjung district. By the time we reach here we are already ahead of Besi sahar which is also known as the gateway to Annapurna circuit trekking, Bhulbhule and a picturesque village of Bahundada. Right after we enter Besisahar we will witness stunning snow capped mountain panorama and culture and traditions of Gurung community, people from one of the community of few selected communities who takes pride to join in British Army. Overnight stay in Jagat.
Altitude: 1,960m/6,430ft|Trek 7-8 hrs
Today we will start our day after breakfast climbing through the forest to Chyamje. We trek through amphitheater-shaped rice terraces, along a steep vertical cliff, lush forests, and some culturally intriguing villages. We follow the Marsyangdi river, as we walk in a fantastic landscapes through little waterfalls, forests and villages. As we climb through the steep hills of Chamje to reach Dharapani, we pass through the first village of Manang district named Tal through the fields of corn, barley, potatoes and forests filled with bamboo and rhododendrons strongly popular for being Nepal’s national flower. During our trek we will experience the serene mountain climate and culture. As we walk, we are heading higher in slow pace sometimes giving passes to caravan of large group of donkey as it helps us getting acclimatized to altitudes. Overnight in Dharapani.
Altitude: 2,610m/8,563ft| Trek 5-6 hours
Today you’d commence your trek moving to Bagarchha walking on a trail that passes through pine and fir forests. Then you’d reach this village after an hour. There is a white washed gompa in this village you can visit. For another hour you’d continue your trek reaching Danaque. You’d take a steep trail ascending for an hour and half to Timang. En route you can see the superb view of Mt. Manaslu and Peak 29- it’s breathtaking. Thereafter, there is another an hour and half walk passing through pine forests to connect to Latamarang. Then you’d continue your walk again through pine forests and you short glimpse of Annapurna II can be seen. Eventually, after walking another 1hr and half you reach Koto. Overnight in Koto.
Altitude: 3,560m/11,680ft|Trek 7-8 hrs
After breakfast, you’d be entering the restricted area and at the police check post you’d get your restricted area permit registered. Then you’d commence trekking along the bank of Suti River passing through fresh and beautiful pine forests passing many streams and suspension bridges to reach Dharmasala, it’s a 5 hours walk. En route to Dharamshala a picturesque waterfall can be seen which isworth a view to catch. As you carry on your trek you pass through forests and before reaching Meta you’d climb steeply taking around an hour and half. With a change in the terrain you can find yourself on the Tibetan Plateau. Stunning views of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal can be seen. Overnight in Meta.
Altitude: 4,250m/13,944ft|Trek 7-8 hrs
You’d need to be prepared for several ascents and descents as well as crossing suspension bridges over many streams. As you carry on walking you can see the remains of ruined forts belonging to the Khampa settlement at places like Kyang, Chyakhu and Jhunam. Then you keep walking on a rocky trail passing the Phu River till your reach Phu village after having walked three hours. Of course you also can see if lucky blue sheep on the trail. Find yourself in one of the amazing hidden and desolate valleys. Here you visit a very old Buddhist Monastery, the Tashi Lakhang Monastery, which is listed among world’s famous Buddhist monasteries. The Himlung Himal along with other snow peaks can be seen beautifully. You’d be halting the night in Phu Gaon. Overnight in Phu Gaon.
Today you’d be spending your day to acclimatize. You can meet the locals and walk to the wide valley systems. You can also walk up the valley to Ngoru which is a settlement where the locals are found with their grazing yaks, this would help you accilimatize and also prepare you physically to trek to Kang La Pass. Phu itself is an incredibly amazing village where you can see villagers spinning their yak and sheep wool engrossed in their conversations. Overnight in Phu Gaon.
Altitude: 4,110m/13,484ft|Trek 6-7 hrs
Today you’d be descending passing several suspension bridges crossing different streams till you reach Mahendra Pul which is a 4 hour trek. You’d have to cross a 80 m suspension bridge over the Lapche River crossing a deep gorge which is exciting. After lunch, the trail steeply climbs passing many Buddhist stupas to connect Naar Village taking almost 2 hours. There are many Buddhist Monasteries to visit as well as a very stunning view of Pisang Peak and other small peaks. Overnight in Nar.
Today, you’d be resting in Nar to acclimate for the next day’s trek to cross the Kang La Pass. Free to explore on your own around the village or undertake some short treks in the vicinity. Get yourself prepared for the journey ahead and rest well in Nar. Overnight in Nar.
Altitude: 5,322m/17,460ft, 3,660m/12,008ft: Trek 7-8 hrs
After rising early today go for some hearty breakfast and get prepared for a long day. You’d begin your three hour walk to Jhombu Karkha otherwise also called the Kang La Phedi passing through areas where you can see yaks and herders. Then, you’d start ascending walking on landslide areas and around 2-3 hrs later you’d reach the Kang La Pass. En route you can see the magnificent views of peaks like the Annapurna range and other mountains- get your cameras ready. From here the trail descends steeply connecting you the village of Ngwal which is another three hour walk- test for your knees. You’d be spending the night here. Overnight in Ngwal.
Altitude: 2,710m/8,891ft| Trek 6- 7 hrs
Today you’d be walking the trail that joins the Annapurna Circuit route reaching the village of Pisang. En route you can see the amazing views of Annapurna II, Manaslu and other peaks in the eastern direction. You’d halt in Chame for the night- the administrative centre of Manang. Even though Chame is a small village yet it’s a lively place to see. You can see children playing and running on the cobblestoned streets, also colourful stupas and small stream turning prayer wheels can be seen. Overnight in Chame.
Altitude: 1430m/4690ft|Trek 6-7 hrs
After some healthy breakfast, you’d take the trail trekking down the valley, traversing the verdant forests of the lower Annapurna’s and Marsyangdi Valley. Truly an awesome trek towards the end! You’d reach the Chamje village your final destination of the day. Overnight in Chamje.
Drive: 8-9 hours
Today you’d be heading back to Kathmandu. Boarding your vehicle you’ be driving on gravel road till Besisahar and from here it’s on blacktop road all the way to Kathmandu. So, you can enjoy the adventurous ride pass through villages and captivating scenery. Once you reach Kathmandu, you’d be transferred to your hotel. Free to explore on your own, indulge in some last minute shopping or visit some UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. It’s time to get triumphant of your journey, so a farewell dinner in the evening will be arranged for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
