Today is a big day for you as you finally get to kick-start your adventure! We have a lot of sightseeing in store for you starting with Kathmandu, the nerve-center of Nepal. It flaunts rich history and vibrant culture in every possible nook and cranny. Kathmandu Durbar Square is rich with ancient palaces with spectacular art and architecture whereas Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest places for Hindus. You then make your way to the largest stupa in the world: Boudhanath Stupa followed by Swayambhunath Temple. Swayambhunath meaning the "the self-existent" is popular among foreigners owing to the large monkey population residing in the area. No wonder it’s also called “Monkey Temple”. Make sure you keep an eye out for these notorious creatures. Transfer to Nagarkot in the evening. Overnight in Nagarkot.
Altitude: [823m/2,700ft], Drive : 6-7 hrs
Drive to Pokhara takes about 5-6 hours from Kathmandu. You will enjoy the winding road with some of the most gorgeous landscapes and inspiring images reflect in your rear-view mirror. Peaceful Pokhara has a prime position beside a deep green lake, nestling among forested hills with a picture-postcard backdrop of gleaming Himalayan peaks. The town offers magnificent views of Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhare, five peaks of Annapurna and others. Take a boat ride in the pristine Phewa Lake, the second biggest lake of Nepal and pay your respect to Tal Barahi Temple right in the heart of the lake! You’ll feel blessed. Overnight in Pokhara.
Altitude: [1,370m/4,496ft]: 1 hr drive, 4-5 hrs trek
You can start stretching your legs for your trek starts today. A 30 minute drive from Pokhara will take you to Bijayapur Khola, marking your initial trekking point. You start off through flat paddy fields for an hour and cross the river. The trail passes through the rice fields and climbs gently along a ridge top through Brahman and Chhetri villages towards Kalikasthan. Excellent views of Machapuchhare and Annapurna will keep you company. Once in Kalikasthan, get some rest and feel free to explore the surrounding areas in the evening. Have fun interacting and exchanging stories with the locals in the cozy teahouse where you will be spending your night. Overnight in Kalikasthan.
Altitude: [1,730m/5,675ft]: 5-6 hrs trek
The trail continues along the forested ridge top through Thulokot to Mati Thana, where there are a few tea shops, then a moderate climb to Naudanda (not to be confused with the Naudanda west of Pokhara). You walk along the ridge of the mountain with Annapurna and Lamjung Himal for a backdrop. You make your way through local villages and rhododendron forests and finally stop at Syaklung. Overnight in Syaklung.
Altitude: [1550m/5,084ft]: 5-6 hrs trek
Start your day with a walk through Gurung villages, a small but lovely marketplace while you play hide and seek with rhododendron and sal forests. Halfway through the walk there is a 400 meter descent and 600 meter ascent before arriving at Chisapani. Chisapani is ‘the’ place for those who yearn for Himalayan panorama to unfold right before their eyes. You can see Dhaulagiri (8167m) to the west of Annapurna to your heart’s content and head off for some warm dinner and cozy sleep in the local teahouse. Overnight in Chisapani.
Today we walk half way down the hill to Rupa Lake and climb about 200 meters to arrive at Sundare Danda. You further walk for 15 minutes down to Begnas Lake and treat yourself to an hour of boating. Serenity surrounds the pristine and calm water of Begnas where you can take a moment to yourself and find inner peace. Finally you make your way to Pokhara and call it a day for today or those of you who are up for more fun can explore the Pokhara city in the evening. Grab some food and drinks by the picturesque Phewa Lake in the evening where you can find a strip of hotels and restaurants. Overnight in Pokhara.
