Today you will be met early in the morning to pick you up so to start your journey. It takes 8-9 hrs of driving on a private vehicle to Jagat, a stone village in Lamjung district. By the time we reach here we are already ahead of Besi sahar which is also known as the gateway to Annapurna circuit trekking, Bhulbhule and a picturesque village of Bahundada. Right after we enter Besisahar we will witness stunning snow capped mountain panorama and culture and traditions of Gurung community, people from one of the community of few selected communities who takes pride to join in British Army. Overnight stay in Jagat.
Altitude: 1,960m/6,430ft| Trek 6 - 7 hours
Today you will start our day after breakfast climbing through the forest to Chyamje. You trek through amphitheater-shaped rice terraces, along a steep vertical cliff, lush forests, and some culturally intriguing villages. You follow the Marsyangdi river walking through fantastic landscapes through little waterfalls, forests and villages. As you climb through the steep hills of Chamje to reach Dharapani, you pass through the first village of Manang district named Tal through the fields of corn, barley, potatoes and forests filled with bamboo and rhododendrons strongly popular for being Nepal’s national flower. During your trek we will experience the serene mountain climate and culture. As you walk, you’d head higher in slow pace sometimes giving passes to caravan of large group of donkey as it helps us getting acclimatized to altitudes. Overnight in Dharapani.
Altitude: 2,710m/8,891ft|Trek 6 - 7 hours
Today with pleasant walk, you trek gradually uphill through steep forest ridges and several landslides to the west. The trail offers superb sensational scenery of Lamjung himal (mountain) and frequent views of Annapurna range, including Annapurna II and Annapurna IV. Treat yourself with small hot springs, waterfalls and a big wall full of prayer flags as you reach Chame, the headquarter of Manang district. Overnight at Chame.
Altitude: 3,300m/10,824ft|Trek 5 - 6 hrs
Today, you will leave the village of Chame passing through the pine tree with amazing view of rocks, walking out past the prayer wheels and cross wide rivers and pine forests on the way to Pisang. Walking on steep and narrow path through a very dense forest will bring you to the dramatic curved rock face, rising 1500m from the river. The forests and heavy vegetation would now be gone. You’d be crossing and re-crossing the river again and again on suspension bridges. As the trail opens up you’ll get surrounded by majestic Himalayan Peaks. The view of the soaring Paungda Danda's rock face really begins to appear. From there the trail joins to climb to Pisang, which sprawls between 3,200m and 3,300meters. You’d find yourselves in U-shaped valley of Manang hanging between two giant snow peaks. Upon walking through these wonderful sites you’d reach at Pisang. Overnight in Lower Pisang.
Altitude: 3439m/11,004ft|Trek 5-6 hrs
Following your breakfast, get ready for another interesting trek to Braga. You can see that you are in Nyesyang which is in Manang region and everything is dry and arid here. This area receives very little rainfall even in the monsoon season since it falls in the rain shadow area. Mostly the locals depend upon farming and usually the men are more into trading businesses. In order to reach Braga you’d take the trails you will follow along the valley floor, on the left side of the Jharsang river bank. You can see the superb views of Annapurna III and IV along with Gangapurana and Tilicho peaks. Surely you will feel blessed on this day with stunning mountain vistas. As you continue walking you will pass through the Hongde village where you can find a STOL airfield that serves the people of Manang. After you cross the river and pass the Manang Mountaineering School you’d be walking along a fairly broad trail to the fields near the village of Braga where you will halt for the night. Overnight in Braga.
Altitude: 4620m/14,784ft, 3540m/11328ft| Trek 7-8 hrs
Today, you’d leave the beautiful and traditional village of Braga after having felt the deep sense of spiritualism to see many chortens, mani walls, prayer wheels. You’d begin the walk ascending steeply taking a trail above Braga, which is a slightly easier route than that the one from Manang. Crossing many ravines and steep slopes you’d as you near the Ice Lake the trail goes zigzag offering some breathtaking views of eastern part Manang valley, Pisang peak and the Holy Mountain (Swargadwari Danda). Once you reach the Ice Lake immerse yourself in the solitude of the place surrounded by lovely peaks. Now, instead of going down to Braga, you’d be heading to Manang descending the slopes a test for your knees walking along a ridge till you get to the main trail that takes you to Manang village. Today you’d be spending the day to acclimate in Manang to prepare you for the onward journey for the coming days. Of course, there is a side trip to Gangapurna Lake which is worth the visit. Even you can visit the Bojo monastery, which has helped many to acclimatize well. Overnight in Manang.Accommodation: Hotel Tilicho
Altitude: 4140m/13,583m|Trek 5-6 hrs
Today you would be heading for another interesting trip to the Tilicho Base Camp; following breakfast you’d come out of the Manang valley taking the northern trail towards to Thorong La walking along the Marshyangdi Valley through pine forest. After walking two hours you’d reach the village of Khangsar (3770m), a collection of stone buildings around a large square. Few hours later you’d reach Siri Kharka, a small settlement. Then, you start walking on a loose, scree prone to landslides till you reach the Tilicho Base Camp where you’d be halting for the night. The walk is less strenuous and easy. Overnight at the Tilicho Base Camp.
Altitude: 4,949m/16,138 ft| Trek 6-7 hours
After breakfast it’s time to get ready to trek to one of world’s highest mountain lake- the Tilicho Lake. It’s revered by the Hindus as a scared lake. The trail ascends steeply initially and then you’d continue walking on the slopes of the mountains which inclines gradually and steepens before you reach the watershed. En route you can see yaks and blue Himalayan sheep grazing below the trail you’d be walking. Finally you’d reach the foot of the northern side of Tilicho Peak where you can see the famous Tilicho Lake. After spending some time at the lake where you’d be surrounded by spectacular peaks, its time trek back to Siri Kharka. Overnight in Siri Kharka.
Altitude: 4040m/13,020ft|Trek 4-5 hours
Following breakfast, you’d be descending to the village of Khangsar, so you’d enjoy walking on the trail as you get to see superb landscape and also pass by an old monastery called Tare Gumba very significant for the local people in the village. There is a deep sense of spiritualism felt when you reach this village. It’s only during the festival the locals come and stay in this village otherwise it’s found sparsely populated. You’d carry on walking out of Khangsar following a rock wall to reach the Thorang River, here you’d have to cross a seasonal bridge. Thereafter, the trail ascends till you reach a plateau, and continue walking till you connect to Yak Kharka- another settlement. Overnight in Yak Kharka.
Altitude: 4420m/14501ft|Trek 3-4 hrs
Today, you’d be ascending to reach Thorong Phedi which is a 450 climb; the first 100 m from Yak Kharka is a steep trail to climb. The route to Thorong Phedi is halfway up the mountain with a steep drop. You’d also pass through the village of Ledar before reaching Thorong Phedi, with no villages further till the Thorong La. En route you can see the alluring peaks of Mt. Syagang, Mt. Gundang, Mt. Thorong and Mt. Khatungkan. You’d be halting in Thorong Phedi for the night. Overnight in Thorong Phedi.
Altitude: 5416m/17764ft, 3,800/12,467ft| Trek: 7-8 hrs
Finally, the day arrives which is the highlight of this trek crossing the famous Thorong La pass; from Thorong Phedi the trail is on an uneven terrain and after walking 4 to 5 hours you’d reach the pass. So be ready to witness the spectacular mountain views of the Annapurna range and other peaks like the Mukat peak which borders Dolpo to the west. It’s a feeling of achievement passing the world’s highest pass at 5416m. Then, you’d take a steep trail descending to enter into the Mukitnath Valley that has a famous Muktinath Temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. Every Hindu devotee dreams of pilgrimage to this place. Spend the night in Muktinath.
Altitude: 2,715m/8,910ft|Trek 4-5 hrs
Following breakfast, you’d commence your walk towards Jomsom passing through picturesque Thakali villages with stunning mountain vistas. The trail is flat and wide following the Kali Gandaki River that connects to Jomsom. You’d be spending the day in Jomsom. Overnight in Jomsom.
After breakfast, you’d board an early morning flight to Pokhara. You can enjoy the views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges as you fly to Pokhara. You’d be met by our representative in Pokhara who would help you check-in at the hotel. Free to explore on your own or relax and stroll by the lakeside. Overnight in Pokhara.
Drive 5-6 hrs
Following an early breakfast, get ready to drive back to Kathmandu on a tourist bus. Enjoy the drive which is indeed fantastic passing by beautiful Nepalese countryside of little towns, river and villages. Once you reach Kathmandu, check in at your hotel. Free to explore on your own, indulge in some last minute shopping or visit some UNESCO Heritage Sites in Kathmandu Valley. It’s time to get triumphant of your journey, so a farewell dinner in the evening will be arranged for you. Overnight in Kathmandu.
